This update looked back on the Ísorka project two years after its certification milestone. Ísorka and Surefni developed and implemented what the article described as Iceland’s first project to receive issued Verra carbon credits, and Europe’s first EV charging infrastructure project certified under the Verified Carbon Standard.
Since that milestone, credits based on measured charging activity and verified emission reductions had been purchased and used by Icelandic organisations. The article named Verkís, Hópbílar, Hagar, Pipar/TBWA, Búseti, Fjarskiptastofa and Magna among those organisations.
Its central point was the connection between operating infrastructure, recorded activity and an independently assessed environmental result. Electrification could be measured and translated into units that connected day-to-day operations with an international market.
The charging infrastructure remained in place, and the article described continuing use and credit generation. The project was presented as an operating system that had progressed beyond an initial milestone and into practical commercial use.
