The Ísorka project measures the effect of EV charging infrastructure on fossil fuel use. Charging sessions and electricity delivered are recorded and assessed in tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent, with one credit representing one tonne. The project uses Verra’s Verified Carbon Standard and methodology VM0038.

The January 2025 article explained the importance of real, measurable results; permanence; additionality; controls against double counting and double use; leakage assessment; and independent third-party verification. It emphasised that additionality depends on conditions at the time a project is developed.

Ísorka’s Virta-powered data system records individual charging sessions. The article also described widespread use of MID meters and an independent RINA review involving inspections of more than 70 charging stations. These details were presented as elements supporting the reliability of the measurements.

The article gave the project’s crediting period as 2021–2030 and described it as time-limited. It also discussed Article 6 guidance and the classification of VM0038 as an emission reduction methodology. That discussion is historical context; it does not establish host-country authorisation or an Article 6 label for any particular unit.
