Surefni supports Heartwood Afforested Land’s Icelandic afforestation project under Verra’s Verified Carbon Standard, using VM0047 v1.1. Our role covers project documentation, methodology alignment and development coordination.
The project.
Heartwood is an afforestation and carbon removal project in Iceland, developed under Verra’s Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) using VM0047 v1.1 — Afforestation, Reforestation, and Revegetation. This methodology frames the project’s development work and the preparation of its supporting records.
Our role.
Surefni’s consultancy role is recorded in the working project description. We support the preparation of project documentation, alignment with the selected methodology and coordination of the development pathway. The work connects the project team’s information with the structure of the project description, helping organise assumptions, evidence and technical questions in a consistent record.
A technical foundation for development.
Forest carbon development requires a clear relationship between the project activity and the evidence used to describe it. For Heartwood, our focus is the documentation that supports that relationship: the project scope, methodological approach and information required as the project progresses. The working description provides a foundation for further development and review, with the project presented here at its development stage.
